A little while I was able to review the debut effort of Sirenz (now Zirenz) , "Tears of Angel". The tune was well received in clubland with playouts by Ian Betts and Guy Ornadel amongst others and was a solid effort with a lot of good ideas with hints of good things to come.

Being encouraged by the response the girls have enlisted Trance's Man of the Moment (tm) Ian Betts for a remix and an update. I'm pleased to find that Ian has turned two decent mixes. The remixes have Ian Betts all over them, which is good thing, from the slighty acidy, groovy bassline; to the pads and the uplifting leads.

The stronger mix of the two is the Dub Mix which makes good use of the operatic style vocals and the "Tears of Angel" vocal hook, this version is blowing up all over clubland and the buzz is starting to turn into a roar on the grapevine with talk of more remixes to come and plays from the likes of Graham Gold, Gavyn Mitchell, Andy Bagguley and Ian Betts. The flip, the full vocal mix retains all of the elements of the Dub mix but is in danger of being swamped by the vocal itself and to my taste the vocal is bit much, but fans of vocal trance should enjoy it.

All in all a good remix package from Betts of a good vocal trancer.
