Scot. Mr Project. Frank. Call this German pioneer of hard trance what you will, it seems his hard dance feet haven’t touched the ground since glow sticks were invented. With more credits for djing, producing and remixing than you can shake a bratwurst at, Scot’s appearances at clubs and festivals up and down the UK have earnt him distinguished respect in the tech trance scene.
Now he’s about to embark on a massive tour of the UK with another bastion of hard dance, Yoji Biomehanika. The Airport Tour will touch down in some of the finest clubbing destinations our fair country has to offer and unleash the fiercest selection of hard dance and tech trance we’ve seen for a very long time.
First on the list, and guaranteed to be an absolute stonker of a party, is Twisted’s 8th Birthday at The Fridge in Brixton. Ably supported by legendary resident Trevor McLachlan and with guests Latex Zebra and Chemical Reaction, the hype is huge and the expectation is sky high!
Obviously preparation for this kind of event is of the utmost importance, so Most Wanted’s Jc decided to take Scot Project through his very own customs declaration and make sure everything is in order before he takes to the decks this weekend on the 7th...[/size]
So you’ll be checking in for your first tour date at the legendary Twisted @ The Fridge. Have you ever been critically delayed getting to a gig?
Unfortunately yes, but this has only happened two or three times in my career so far. As a German you have to be on time, that’s what people expect from a proper German!
Where’s your favourite destination in the world to play?
I like to play everywhere, it doesn’t really matter, as long as the sound system is pumping, a good crowd, and of course some JD & Coke...
There are big problems right now checking in at airports in the UK. Have you ever turned up to a gig and found you’ve been cancelled?
No, but I had a couple of cancelled flights! Just recently I missed my flight to Tokyo because they denied my hand luggage and I had to check it in again, but it was already too late and they flew without me... Soooo stupid, but hey, what do you expect if you see a guy like me — a potential terrorist??!!
You’re known as one of the great masters of tech trance remixes. Do you ever work on your mixes whilst travelling?
No, flying is a good chance to relax. And I prefer my studio environment for producing. I cannot bring my analogue synths into the plane…!
You must spend a huge amount of your time trekking through customs. Have you ever realised you had a contraband item, halfway through the x-ray queue?
Yes, I had some porn magazines with me and I went through the customs in Malaysia where porn is in every way is forbidden. Luckily they didn’t searched my luggage…
You dirty boy! Ever had your record bag lost by the airline?
I guess every dj can tell some stories about lost record bags... I lost them a couple of times, but luckily I received them always a couple of days later. It’s a bit stupid if you don’t have your records at the gig. But I always have my own productions on CD in my hand luggage!
We’d love to hear your tunes blasting through our in-cabin music system at 40,000 feet. Do you have any new top tunes/remixes in the pipeline?
Yes, I recently finished my remix of Yazooza — ‘Cocaine’ (Traffic Tunes 006), Sakin — ‘Braveheart’, my new Tocs — 2 and four new “own pleasure” mixes from Niels Van Gogh, Paul Van Dyke, Marco V and The Killers.... So don’t miss my set, as some records are not going to be released.
OK! Have you ever tried to blag your way into first class?
No, but do you have any suggestions on how to do it??!!
Been naughty on a plane?
Sometimes, if the flight attendant is sexy...
And where in the world does someone like Scott P head off to, to escape the madness of the scene?
If you travel that much, you can relax at home!
Finally, on the plane:
Laptop or Ipod?
Playboy Magazine
Chicken or beef?
Beef
Economy or First?
Business, until you tell me the secrets of blagging into First Class
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, clubbers extraordinaire – welcome on board Twisted Airlines Flight 0710 for the maiden voyage of the sensational Airport clubbing concept.
Tonight’s Airport destination is The Fridge in London, our scheduled time of arrival is 10pm. Your captains on this flight of musical fancy are international clubbing legends Yoji Biomehanika and Scot Project/[b], who will be lifting you off the ground with a dazzling mix of hard dance, European trance, techno trance and hard house.
Your Head Steward for tonight will be [b]Trevor McLachlan, ably assisted by guest cabin crew Latex Zebra. Both are on hand throughout the flight to warm you up with a stunning selection of the hardest most euphoric tunes as our flight rises higher into the atmosphere.
Should you require refreshment of a different nature, please feel free to unbuckle your seatbelts and visit the IceBox, where host Chemical Reaction will be serving up a filthy session of underground UK hard dance.
Emergency exits are to the front and rear of the plane but we guarantee you won’t want to use them until our flight lands at 6am. Should you wish to show your appreciation at any time during the flight simply blow on the whistle attached the lifejacket under your seat and wave your hands in the air.
In the event of your breath being taken away, you will find your oxygen masks in the compartments overhead. Please don’t worry as this is a common occurrence at Twisted events. Please do not remove the masks from the plane for later use as club wear.
Advance boarding passes are available but can also be purchased at the passenger gate on the night. We thank you for travelling with Twisted Airlines and we hope you enjoy your flight.
